Libertarian Party of Brevard County (LPB)

2000-04 Newsletter

Message from the Chair

Fellow Libertarians, we have arrived at a very critical time for our local organization.  For the first time in many years, Brevard County has an active local Libertarian Party during a presidential election year.  As we begin the Libertarian Party of Brevard County's fourth year, we will have opportunities like we have never previously had.

First and most obviously, we want to get the word out about our presidential candidate.  This month, Brian Collar will be conducting the first Harry Browne 2000 campaign meeting here in Brevard County.  Because of its unique geography, our county has always represented a challenge for large campaigns.  It will take a committed effort from each of us if we are going to cover Brevard from end to end.

Second, it appears the County Commission will be placing at least some of our County Charter amendments on the ballot in one form or another.  A lot of time and effort has gone into getting us this far, but the battle isn't won until the votes are counted.  We must have the people and resources to continue our efforts to shape the County Commission by getting these Libertarian changes into the Charter.  If we are going to achieve everything that is possible this year, your continued support is essential.  Please help us to continue the fight for liberty by joining the Libertarian Party of Brevard County for another year.

See reverse side of this newsletter for membership application.

Your membership dues are a critical source of funds that allows us to mail newsletters, keep up a web site and provide speakers and flyers at events like the recent BCC Political Action Day.

With your membership in the LPB, you will not only be helping financially, you also make yourself eligible to vote for next year's LPB officers at the Annual Business Meeting in June.

Presidential election years always generate a surge of interest in the Libertarian Party. With your help and support, I'm looking forward to seeing the Libertarian Party of Brevard County grow and continue to be the voice of liberty here in our area.

Mark your calendar for Sunday, April 30 at 2:00 PM.  The Libertarian Party of Brevard County will conduct its next business meeting at Choo Choo's B-B-Q and Lounge, 1341 N Cocoa Blvd, Cocoa.  (Call 321-636-6160 or visit for directions.)  We'll be looking for volunteers to help with Harry Browne's campaign.

 In Liberty,

 Lee McLamb, Chair
