Libertarian Party of Brevard County (LPB)

2000-06 Newsletter

Message from the Chair

We've reached a very important point for our local organization, the Libertarian Party of Brevard County.  It is time once again to elect officers for the upcoming year.  This year will see some changes in the Party.  What they are depends on you.

This will be my last time writing to you as Chair of the LPB.  I appreciate having had the opportunity to learn and serve for these last two years.   This year we have a lot happening.  This is a Presidential election year, and we also have County Charter amendments on the ballot.  The media coverage of our Presidential candidate always brings about new interest and new members.  What activities will we have to involve the new members?  What can we do to make Brevard County more Libertarian?  These are the strategies that we will be deciding over the next few months.  I'm looking forward to seeing the LPB revitalized with fresh faces and ideas.

The first step is to elect our new officers.  These are the people who will help set the pace for the LPB in the next year.  If we are to have a local organization, having a full slate of officers is essential.  Do you have some ideas about how to run the Party?  If so, then I suggest you consider serving as a Party Officer.  If you are concerned about not knowing the all the details, don't worry.  The outgoing officers will still be around if you have questions.

With this election year, it is time to start a new chapter in the history of the LPB.  How the chapter unfolds is up to you.  I hope to see everyone at this exciting opening as we conduct our Annual Business Meeting.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, June 29 at 6:00 PM.  The Libertarian Party of Brevard County will conduct its Annual Business Meeting at Perkins Family Restaurant, 8200 N Wickham Rd, Melbourne. (Call 752-5200 or visit http://maps.yahoo.com for directions.) We'll be electing local officers for the 2000-2001 LPB Executive Committee as well as reviewing our past accomplishments and future projects. Come one, come all!

 In Liberty,

 Lee McLamb, Chair
