Celebrate Freedom
Once again, the Cannabis Freedom Festival is scheduled to take place at the Wickham
Park main pavilion in Melbourne on November 21st and 22nd, 1998. This is the fifth annual
event at this location. The Cannabis Freedom Coalition and local band Lifeblood sponsor
the festival. The event features speakers and bands from noon till 11 PM on the 21st, and
from noon till 9 PM on the 22nd. There also will be numerous hemp vendors.
The purpose of this festival is to educate the public about the lies and propaganda
they are fed about the herb cannabis (marijuana) by the government, and to help change
laws to relegalize cannabis. If you care about the freedoms this country was founded upon
that have all been lost, be there.
If you're tired of a bunch of pinch-nosed, mean-spirited, puritanical totalitarians
telling you that the government owns your body, be there.
If you're tired of hearing mental midgets blaming inanimate objects for
their problems instead of blaming their own actions, be there.
If you're tired of being told that in the name of protecting children (who have no
rights in our society) you can have no more rights than a child, be there.
If you're tired of having to piss in a jar in order to get or keep a job, like you
lived in Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union, be there. Speaking of piss tests, Congress
recently exempted themselves from these invasive, inaccurate piss tests because, they
stated, it was too "insulting." I guess they get high on hypocrisy.
In 1996 there were 641,642 marijuana arrests, 85.2% for simple possession. This doesn't
include the thousands of federal marijuana arrests. This figure (the most recent
available) is higher than any other year in U.S. history.
Our nation has become a police state in the name of the "war on drugs," which
is really a "war on people." One in every 35 adults in the United States is in
prison, jail, on probation, or on parole. In this so-called "free country," we
jail more people than any other nation on earth. Most of them are non-violent drug
criminals.
Many of these jailed people are sick and dying from cancer or AIDS, and use marijuana
to quell nausea. What does this teach children? It teaches them to be cruel, callous, and
indifferent to the suffering of other human beings, and teaches them to perpetrate acts of
violence against people who are suffering and dying. The next time you hear some moron in
the media wringing his or her hands over why children commit acts of violence, you can
provide them with the answer: the "War on Drugs." De-evolution apparently is
real, since human beings have forgotten the main lesson of alcohol prohibition: drug
prohibition breeds violence.
The government's "Big Lie" campaign notwithstanding in all of history, there
is not one documented death caused by marijuana (cannabis). In fact, in 1988, after a
16-year legal battle, in a 64-page ruling, the Drug Enforcement Administration's own
administrative law Judge Francis L. Young called marijuana "one of the safest
therapeutically active substances known to man."
"In strict medical terms, marijuana is safer than many foods we commonly
consume," he wrote.

Casualty of War: Truth
Why should you come out to the Cannabis Freedom Festival at Wickham
Park main pavilion in Melbourne on November 21st and 22nd at noon? Other than the
educational speakers, great music (including local band and past "High Times"
Freedom Fighters of the Month, Lifeblood) and excellent hemp vendors, there are many
reasons to attend this event. You'll be supporting truth, justice, reason, peace, freedom
and the American way. One day people will look back on the "War on Drugs" and
view it as one of the biggest follies and mass delusions of all human existence. It will
be viewed the same way the "Dark Ages" are now viewed. You'll be able to tell
your children and grand children that you stood up for truth and freedom and helped end
the modern "Dark Ages", rather than standing by and watching families destroyed,
as millions of people have their lives ruined by the "War on Drugs."
People in the future will want to know how such a hateful, dishonest,
hypocritical policy could be allowed to exist, in the same way people now ask how the
German people could have allowed the Nazis to imprison and exterminate millions of
so-called" undesirables."
There may even be war crimes trials in which government officials and their agents
along with the officials of collaborating businesses are tried in court for the atrocities
they've committed in the name of the "War on Drugs."
Who are the War Criminals? All of those associated with the "prison industrial
complex." Prisons are the new growth industry in the "land of the free" due
mostly to the "War on Drugs." At the current annual prison population growth
rate of 8.5%, in fifty years, half of our citizens will be in prison. To paraphrase
Shannon Wilson, a Brevard County attorney who was running the "Citizens'" Jail
Advisory Committee a couple of years back, "We've got to spend tax dollars to build
more jails because the legislature is going to be criminalizing more and more
behavior."
So if you think this isn't going to affect you, think again. It doesn't take much to
get thrown in jail nowadays either. People are arrested and prosecuted for political
crimes on a regular basis in Brevard County. I was arrested 18 months ago for distributing
information about rigged non-jury political trials held here in Brevard County. I still
haven't gone to trial and there have been numerous irregularities and criminal actions
committed by local judges and other county officials in regard to my case. Stay tuned
though, because I'll be telling you soon about how you can witness a rigged non-jury
political trial first hand. You'll get to see me tried and convicted in an
honest-to-goodness non-jury show trial. As part of this story, I'll be telling you about a
local judge who ordered some of Phil Williams' bullyboy thug sheriffs to steal numerous
documents from the Lifeblood Free Press including a copy of the U.S. Constitution and the
Declaration of Independence. (Yes, I've got the video to prove it.)
Apparently, it is now illegal to possess or distribute copies of the Declaration of
Independence and U.S. Constitution on the sidewalks of Brevard County. By the way, if
you're wondering why you haven't heard about this, two editors at Florida Today told me
they didn't have time to cover this story, the public wouldn't be interested and none of
their reporters were interested in this story. That's because Florida Today is largely an
apologist for the "prison industrial complex" and is not interested in printing
the truth about atrocities committed in the name of the "War on Drugs." The
management of that paper seems to be largely from the Joseph Goebbels school of
journalism.
Speaking of Joseph Goebbels, the Partnership for a Drug-Free America is one of the
largest perpetrators of the "Big Lie" that has ever existed. The fact that they
are not exposed for who they are and what they represent is a sorry statement about just
how controlled the mainstream press in the United States is. The Partnership is largely a
front for monopolistic drug corporations who don't want any competition, and for
government organizations like the D.E.A who have an unlimited supply of covert cash from
their ability to sell illegal drugs legally.
A more appropriate name for the organization would be "Partnership for a
Truth-Free America." Their slogan should be "Say No to Some Drugs," (the
ones they don't sell, at least). This organization is funded in large part by
pharmaceutical, alcohol, and tobacco corporations, including Pfizer, Anheuser-Busch and
Phillip Morris. By the way, each year, more than two million people in the United States
are hospitalized and more than 100,000 die because of adverse reactions to prescription
and over-the-counter medications. No one in all of human history has ever died from
smoking marijuana.
The name of the Partnership is also indicative of how, in the name of the "War on
Drugs," we have completely perverted our language into a type of "1984"
style newspeak and double speak. "War is Peace" to the drug warriors. The
partnership does not want a drug-free America. They want an America in which only
the drug corporations they represent are free to sell drugs in a monopolistic market. (So
much for the free market we supposedly have).
Use and abuse have also come to mean the same thing to drug warriors. Millions of
people use marijuana without abusing it, but drug warriors classify all use as abuse.
"Say no to drugs." Whenever I see or hear this phrase or see or hear the
phrase "drug free," I think of the book 1984, which ironically is when
the current "War on Drugs" really got cranked up. The people spouting these
phrases are in reality taking all sorts of drugs: Caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, aspirin,
decongestants, heart medications, arthritis medications, high blood pressure medications,
cancer medications, etc. In reality, these people are lobbyists for huge multinational,
monopolistic drug corporations. Chances are pretty good that Nancy Reagan is not saying no
to drugs nowadays either, now that Ronald has Alzheimer's.
Ironically, marijuana's prime active ingredients have recently been shown to shield
human beings from brain damage. One of the active ingredients has been shown to forestall
permanent nerve damage in lab animals subjected to cerebral choke and surgical shock. The
ingredient is now undergoing human trials in Israeli hospitals. Doctors associated with
this research stated, "We have found that cannabinoids are very powerful
antioxidants." A biologist on the project emphasized, "In fact, they appear to
be more powerful than vitamin C or vitamin E." Some of the researchers have concluded
that cannabinoids are likely to be useful in preventatively forestalling progressive,
oxidation-mediated brain diseases like Parkinson's and Alzheimer's syndromes. The
researchers also consider cannabinoids promising for the treatment of meningitis,
arthritis, and AIDS. Research on cannabis in the United States is generally not allowed
due largely to Ronald and Nancy Reagan, and because every time the government allows
research, it proves that marijuana is mostly harmless and also is medically beneficial.
The Partnership for a Drug-Free America uses as its front, the notion that they are
trying to protect children. This is the biggest bunch of cynical, hypocritical crap I have
ever heard. It reminds me of the movie "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" in which the
movie starts with one of the main characters played by Michael Caine, ripping off an
elderly rich widow by convincing her that she'll be helping to save the children of his
non-existent country. Whenever people are trying to steal your money or your freedom they
always do it in the name of the children. The reality is that groups like the Partnership
are responsible for ensuring that children continue to be victims of the black market drug
trade. There's no one on the street corners vying to push six-packs of beer to children.
People during alcohol prohibition were much smarter than people are nowadays. Their main
slogan in trying to end alcohol prohibition was: "Save Our Children. End
Prohibition."
The "War on Drugs" is not really about children. It's about throwing adults
in jail and stealing their property. Under asset forfeiture laws that allow the government
to steal, you are forced to go into court even if you have never been convicted of a crime
and prove that your money is innocent, in which case you probably still will not get your
property back. We are allowing police agencies to fund themselves with whatever they can
steal. It sort of reminds you of the fall of the Roman Empire or Nazi Germany.
If you're tired of the philosophy that government owns your body and all your property,
come out to the Cannabis Freedom Festival at Wickham Park Main Pavilion on November 21st
and 22nd at noon. Come to have a good time also, and to sign petitions to place a medical
marijuana initiative on the ballot in Florida for the year 2000 elections.
Be there. It's your right under "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness"
and the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
Remember this: The government hates marijuana because it makes people think. Remember
this also: It's your constitutional right if you sit on a jury to refuse to convict
non-violent drug criminals regardless of what the judge says. Otherwise, there would be no
need for a jury.
